Whitefish native Maggie Voisin was on the 2014 Olympic Freestyle team as the youngest member ever at age 15, and is currently a professional freestyle skier.

The Whitefish Winter Carnival happens every first weekend of February and includes a Penguin Plunge, Grand Parade, Pie Social, and other fun events celebrating winter - complete with Yetis and Viking Divas! Plus the weekend is kicked off by the World Invitational Whitefish Ski Joring.

What initiatives is Whitefish currently working on?

The city parks department is working on the Whitefish Bike/Ped Master Plan to make downtown more pedestrian and cyclist friendly, plus the Whitefish Trail is continually adding more singletrack to the current 36 miles for hikers/bikers/runners that is easily accessible from town.

How many family-friendly activities can be found in your community?

In the warm months, City Beach is a popular place for families with a roped off swim area, plus a ice cream and gourmet hot dog concession stand.

Whitefish Mountain Resort is a family-friendly destination with a great learn-to-ski program, good beginner terrain, and in the summer, an Alpine Slide and scenic lift that is really popular with kids.

If you're looking for a creative endeavor, the Stumptown Art Studio, a non-profit community art center, has paint your own pottery and art lessons for all ages.

Where would you take someone on a first date in Whitefish?

I would go to Tupelo Bar - upscale to impress, but not so fancy you can't show up in a down jacket and jeans in the cold weather months. The bar has has live music multiple nights a week and a whiskey wall with 100 varieties! (We are in Montana.)
